This video will give you a good overview of how to grow your social network using Content Marketing and Content Curation apps and tools namely Pinterest, Visibli, Scoop.it, Google Plus and PostRank.
Most of these Content Marketing apps are web based and free to use. As is usually the case, the free version comes with a basic set of features and the paid versions offer more robust features and analytics we all like to use to track our content marketing efforts. This video is also my Featured Video for January 2012 which you can view off to the right. I’ve been using each of the following for a few months and most are considered best of class content marketing tools.
Content Marketing Apps
There are dozens of other apps you could use for your content curation strategy, but these are the ones I’ve used and tested in my online marketing plan. There is a lot of cross channel banter that supports the notion that Google is going to value ones social shares much more than previously and these content marketing tools will help you improve the number of social shares your content receives, which in turn will improve your SERP results both organically as well as with your Google Places search results.
If you have an active Google Plus profile and you do a quick search for content marketing, you will see there is quite a bit of cross channel banter discussing how Google is using social shares as a key SEO metric to assign a quality score for a piece of digital content. As a matter of fact, I’ve been testing a few keyword phrases on Google+ to see how quickly I can get my content ranked at the top of the G+ search results for a number of keyword phrases that speak to the dynamics involved in content curation and content marketing.
So far, many of my G+ posts rank at the top of Google Plus for a few target keyword phrases. I suspect over time, these top rankings will help drive more traffic to my websites. You might want to do the same thing. Create and post quality content to your Google Plus Stream targeting the keywords that you have your site optimized for to help enhance your site’s appeal with the Google bots. If you need some help on this, drop me an email or ping me on my Google Plus Personal page or my Google Plus Business page. Either way, make sure you take action to get your content marketing strategy in place so you are prepared when Google updates its algo with this new social sharing model.
