How to Create a Custom Web 2.0 Link Wheel

How to Create a Custom Web 2.0 Link Wheel in 7 Simple Steps. As Social becomes the New SEO its more important than ever that you see and be seen on the social networks your Customers and Prospects are using, so you can effectively and efficiently engage them with your (USP) unique selling proposition.

Why have SlideShare in your Link Wheel

SlideShare link wheel

SlideShare is a premium web 2.0 social sharing network. As a matter of fact, this piece of content was view more than 2,000 times in less than 48 hours. Granted, the headline is a trending topic, but  if you add quality content to your link wheel and provide value, your audience will reward you with views, clicks, social shares and as is the case with this presentation, readers will embed your presentation onto their sites and that will help you get even more traffic to your site.

This presentation will show you how to find out which social networks you have an active profile on and how to syndicate your content once you create a social profile on many of the top audio, video, photo, micro blogging and social media marketing networks.

Custom Link Wheel

Click this LINK if you want to view and download an Excel file I created that lists the Top Social Networks, sorted by Media type. This will come in handy for keeping track of the social networks you have in place and which sites are performing the best for you. You should also make note of the Alexa score, the pagerank of the site and how many of your friends, followers, fans and target audience are using the site.

[ Tip ] If you leave your Google Plus URL in the comment section, you will likely get other “like minded” people to add you to their G+ Circle. However, it’s not required for you to be able to download the file, its just a good idea if you want to grow your following on G+.

What does your existing Social Link Wheel look like?

knowem

There are many different sites that will show you where you have an active social profile. I like to use sites like Knowme to show me where I have a social profile.  What’s nice about Knowem, is that shows you hundreds of social sites and organizes them by media type and most popular.

You don’t need to have a profile on all 500 sites. Take the top 2 or 3 from each major category and start with that. Just make sure that when you create your custom web 2.0 link wheel, you connect them to each other and point them back to your flagship (money site) as you add new content to each social network.

Link Wheel Summary

There are many reasons why you want to have a robust web 2.0 link wheel in place. For me, its a matter of being able to quickly syndicate my content to web 2.0 properties that I control and know for sure the content is in sync with each other. Try to avoid using shady 3rd party content curators and ghost writers who don’t have your best interest at heart. Rather, take the time to research what topics are interesting to your audience and give it to them. You will be rewarded with building the enviable reputation for producing quality content and you will find your link wheel sites ranking higher in the SERPs. Good luck!

I got the concept of linking the content to money making site but couldn’t understand your point of linking 2-3 social media sites to the original target site.. could you explain me more about that?

When you add a new piece of content to your WP site, link it to one of your other socials (FB, T, YT etc.)
